Volleyball

Fun and fast paced, with it's reliance on teamwork and limited physical contact, volleyball is one of the most popular and fastest growing youth sports in the country. For boys, it is THE NUMBER ONE fastest growing sport.

Open to all 5th-8th grade children actively enrolled in our parish school or religious education program.

Registration is held each spring for this sport. No team shall have more than twelve players (maximum). If the number of registered players exceeds this number, the Volleyball Coordinator must obtain approval from the Athletic Board to have a larger. Alternatively, if the numbers permit, we may split into two or more teams. Evaluations are required before splitting teams.

Split evenly based on talent.

Divide into A and B teams. In the event a 7th/8th grader decides they do not want to be considered for the A team, they would not be required to attend the player evaluation days.

Practices begin in mid-August. Games begin the weekend after Labor Day and run through the first week in November.

Twice per week for 90 minutes. Days TBD.

Twice per week for 120 minutes. Days TBD.

Boys: Play in the Metro Volleyball Conference. League games are Friday nights. Typically, at 6pm, 7pm, or 8pm.

Girls: Play in the Parkview Parochial League. Games are typically on Saturday or Sunday between 9am and 4pm.

Parents are required to volunteer a few hours each season to run our home game operations. A volunteer sign-up will be sent before the season.

Teams may participate in pre-season, mid-season, and post season tournaments subject to the following limitations:

5th & 6th GRADE TEAMS: Limited to participate in two tournaments

7th & 8th GRADE TEAMS: Limited to participate in three tournaments

8th grade teams, if invites, may play in the Elizabeth Seton Invitational, an archdiocese wide tournament at the conclusion of the season, in addition to the tournaments above.
